²⁰²⁴ WITHIN CONTAMINATED CIRCUITS

Within Contaminated Circuits investigates the contamination of heat and the consequences of being caught in circuits of heat exchange. It depicts thermal dependencies and the vulnerabilities connected with them—looking at a fevering globe with a similar fevering observation infrastructure.

Since heat is perceived as an interference and error, the attention is devoted to the information in the noise rather than in a smooth signal. In the form of a publication and an accompanying lecture performance, the project explores the methodology of finding information in heat, chasing noise, and reflecting on targets of investigation. The narration stretches between the jiggling of atoms and fever dreams of a geostationary satellite.

²⁰²³ KNOWN UNKNOWNS

Under the guidance of Felix Lenz, we delved into the exploration of low electromagnetic frequencies. In a three-day workshop, we crafted our own antenna and ventured into fields outside of Eindhoven, tuning into the nuanced interferences of diverse infrastructures. What started as an experimental inquiry turned into a speculative narrative of a future scenario.

²⁰²² Before the Absence

The act of breathing involves sequential contraction of various muscle groups, enabling the lungs to take in and expel air. Throughout each breath cycle, the body experiences different states of its physical and mental condition. Paradoxically, in the moment one’s lungs are devoid of air the mind reaches the deepest focus. Occurring before the absence of air, before the urge to inhale again.
Recently, the University of Kansas City has been working with the local Police Academy on a continuous investigation into the effects of breathing patterns on mental conditions on duty. However, not meant for relief.

²⁰²² Resolving Resolution

Resolution is defined as the density of information in a certain space. By translating our reality into a structure we escape infinite density. However, depending on the resolution’s level, information gets lost between the threshold.
While the first depicts one single pixel of a satellite’s image, the other one contains a density of trillions grains within the same space.
This is an attempt at understanding the impact of resolution on a human body, captured from above.

²⁰²² Numeric Metamorphosis

Numbers provide a way to indicate change precisely, while values solely based on an human perception feel inaccurate. The ritual of measuring combines a rational numeric expression and the human urge for correctness, with a highly emotional ritual to understand a body’s short- and long-term metamorphosis. skin deep.

My mom is a rebel—she steals teaspoons from places she likes. Since a few years we share this habit and a teaspoon collection worth filing. They are categorised into their common syntactical properties and our personal connotation to them. Some of the teaspoons lost their connotation over time, hence they are now located to Neverland.

The opinion on pregnancy is individual and reaches from very positive to highly negative emotions. However, society shaped the responsibilty of pregnancy still as a feminine problem—seen in existing products. indicium gets rid of those gender related connotations and provides a packaging without any valuation. It is fact-based but offers subtle emotional support if necessary.

By observing an area in Vienna, ephemeral floral settings have been analysed in their condition, amount and appearance, documented in maps. This approach to geographical data gained new ways of generating programs and introduced handy tools. That rose the awareness of a designer’s responsibility of visualisation and its semantic impact.

²⁰¹⁹ The Truman Show

The Truman Show disguised itself as an entertaining narration at first glance, however, by precise observation its acutal tragedy reveals. The film is structured into nested levels of reality which vary in their stage-direction, music and product placement. To emphasise this approach to reality those aspects are elaborated visually.
